Chirst Our King Christian School

Twelve Kindergarten students and twenty Nursery School students of Christ Our King Christian School, on Dundas Street W, in Mississauga, Ontario are enjoying the benefits of interacting with each other and their teachers in a small group setting; insuring focused instruction and individual assistance.

Building on the experience of thirty three years of providing a high quality Nursery School for the community, and introducing Kindergarten last year, Christ Our King Lutheran School is making preparations to add Grade One in September of 2007.

A Mississauga Christian School is a special place. It operates to provide a quality education in an environment that shines with the care and love of Jesus. It seeks to serve children and families so that they may grow in faith and Christian life, even as they grow intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically and creatively.

A Christian School helps a child learn to live his or her Christian faith every day. When faith is included in school life, it communicates the message that God’s Word, faith and prayer are important. A child is better prepared for life in this world when he or she knows God’s plan of salvation in Christ and sees himself or herself as a redeemed child of God.

“Poor self esteem, negative behaviour patterns, and being confronted with family trauma, are all situations that beg for assurance, and reassurance that there is a set of guidelines that is constant and consistent; that there is a loving and forgiving God; and that Jesus, friend and Saviour is just a prayer away,” comments Lois Munz, the School’s Principal. “Only in a Christian school setting can one speak freely of these things”.

A Christian school focuses on the whole child in the context of his/her family. The atmosphere is respectful, academically challenging and infused with a love of learning. Routines and management structures allow the student to feel secure, yet through the arts and physical activities, the student may pursue creative interests. Smaller class size allows for more individual pupil/teacher interaction; hence positive responses may be reinforced and problems quickly resolved.

Christ Our King Lutheran School is part of a network of Lutheran Schools in Ontario and western Canada. These schools have earned the reputation of providing high quality Christian education. The values and character-building traits developed by these students allow them to be leaders in the world of tomorrow.
